SunPower Panel Warranty
While SunPower panel reviews in Australia show that Aussies are by and large happy to put them on their roof, how does SunPower get on when it comes to warranty?
While they can sometimes seem hard to compare, a good rule of thumb we always go by is to consider these two main things:
1. Your solar installer’s warranty
Start your solar journey on the right foot by choosing a solar installer you can trust.
These guys will be your first point of contact should anything go wrong with your system, so you need to make sure that they are easy to contact (i.e. their customer support team is located in Australia), and that their claims process is proven and simple.
Additionally, you should check:
- Any additional warranties they provide on the products they’re quoting; and
- Any guarantees they place on their workmanship and installation.

2. The panel manufacturer’s warranty
Before you pick your panels, make sure the manufacturer:
- Offers strong guarantees on products and performance
- Has a long-standing Australian presence.
The second point is VERY important!
Why? Well, if your solar installer goes under or rejects your warranty claim there’s a chance you’ll be stuck dealing directly with the manufacturer. This is way easier to do if they have customer services based in Australia. (Trust us!)
SunPower solar panels warranty review: Final verdict
So, what do we think about the warranty on SunPower solar panels? Upon review things look great!
Their warranties are fantastic, with the 40 years they offer on their Maxeon series one of the lengthiest in the industry. Plus they have a dedicated Australian presence. Nice!
